The website design and development industry has changed significantly over the past 3 to 5 years. While we could bore you to death with all the reasons, the easy answer is that the industry has progressed into the growth stage in the industry life cycle. From the consumer’s perspective this has been a good thing – more talented designers and developers have entered the industry, which has brought competition, technological advancements and lower costs to the consumer. In addition, the growth of social media has not only helped to educate consumers, it has empowered them. The mystique and fear of designing and developing a website is all but gone and in its place is the sense that everything online is easy to do.
So what does this all mean? For the consumer it means that you have a lot of more choices, not only in vendors but also in the solutions that are best for you. For agencies like Lightfin Studios, it means that we need to work to differentiate ourselves and prove our value. It is the goal of this blog that we can help to educate consumer as to not only our process, but the value an end-to-end agency can provide, both in the short and long term. We also hope that we can lift the curtain a little bit into the behind the scenes of Lightfin Studios.
We appreciate you taking the time to read this and welcome any and all feedback – share, contribute and help us make this a better resource for everyone.
